CRAIG BARONCELLI
A sports publishing industry veteran, Craig Baroncelli officially launched A.E. Engine in November 2005.
Baroncelli spent nearly 15 years at Host Communications, one of the most recognized sports marketing companies in the United States. Craig started at Host in 1991 as a staff assistant and had the honor of being promoted every year while at Host. His client list included the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine, the No. 1 selling annual in Texas and the NCAA’s official basketball and football preview magazines. In 1992, while serving as an assistant editor, Craig’s work with the United States Military Academy’s Football program earned him a No. 1 ranking by the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). In May 2000, Craig was promoted to the role of Executive Vice President of Printing and Publishing by then Chairman and CEO W. James Host, the founder of Host Communications. Craig served in that capacity from 2000 until 2005. He was responsible for developing the company’s publishing relationship with the NCAA, collegiate properties, and professional associations across the country. In addition, Craig was responsible for managing a full-service graphic design and sheet-fed printing operation. Each group achieved top monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and profit goals during his tenure.
Craig left Host in January 2005 and eventually formed A.E. Engine, LLC. A.E. Engine has developed a reputation for creating top-quality publishing and marketing programs and has established relationships with some of sports’ top companies and associations. Some of A.E. Engine’s clients include Action Sports Media, Lowe’s Motor Speedway, NASCAR, Pantheon International (Guilford, CT), the Wooden Classic, the East-West Shrine Game and US Youth Soccer. In March 2006, A.E. Engine partnered with Action Sports Media to form Varsity Sports Media (www.varsitysportsmedia.com), a high school sports marketing company. In August 2006, VSM published Florida Football magazine and (www.FloridaFB.com) In 2007, VSM will publish magazines and websites covering football in Georgia and Tennessee while expanding the Florida property. Also in 2007, A.E. Engine signed an agreement with NASCAR to make Pole Position Race Fan Guide, a magazine dedicated to the NASCAR fan, an officially licensed NASCAR publication. Baroncelli graduated in 1991 from St. Bonaventure University and resides in Tampa, FL.
